Web Sites of the Week

Each week Sly posts a fun, weird or wacky site of the week sent in by a listener. To submit a website of the week, send an email to Sly.

Sly's Website of the Week - November 17th, 2010

Without a doubt, the creepiest iPhone charger I have ever seen and never hope to see in the "real world". ;-)

*Shudder*

Holy stunts, Batman! Second clip in, I had vertigo. :-)

People are crazy as well as awesome.

Cheers,

Can't believe it's nearing the end of October already. In honour of "All Saints Day" or "All Hallows Eve" aka Halloween, this week's Website of the Week is dedicated to all YML listeners.

Happy Halloween!

Sly's Website of the Week - October 13th, 2010

YML has a lot of "official" listeners. Like for example, the "Official Optometrist" (Michael Marino), the "Official Pastor" (Rory Gillespie) and the "Official Jew" (Loren Finkelstein). But we also have the "Official Toddler" (formerly known as the "Official Baby of YML"), Logan Gehr. Logan is the very adorable son of longtime YML listeners Susan and Greg Gehr and apparently he's a big fan of 1Password.

Well specifically, he's a fan of 1Password's commercial that airs on YML.

Check it out. :-)

I may not be smart enough to understand how they did this, but at least I'm smart enough to pick a cool site for Website of the Week. :-)

Hope you enjoy!

Well I play this game of pool about as good as I play the real one.....really, really badly. :-)

Give it a shot! Sink as many balls before the timer runs out.

As a fan of the arcade version of PacMan, I couldn't resist picking this "version".

Stop Motion "Human" Pacman!

Well there's 3m & 17 secs I'll never get back. :-)

(Disclaimer: There is one scene that may offend some viewers (well, if the whole thing doesn't offend you, that is LOL), so viewer discretion is advised.)

Sly's Website of the Week - August 25th, 2010

Um, ewwwwwwwwwwww! (Seems perfect for Website of the Week then.)

Now that's just disgusting!

Baby discusses some very serious topics. :-)

"C'mon! Cow Farts!!"

Sly's Website of the Week - August 11th, 2010

On occasion a website of the week submission renders me speechless.

This is one of those occasions.

(Talk about a beer koozie!) ;-)

Seems fitting as the new iPhone 4 is launched in more countries that we take a look at an iPhone Speed Comparison between all the existing iPhones.

Still jonesing for an iPhone 4, but I'm waiting a while and letting others be the guinea pigs. ;-)

"The "Man on a Horse" from the Old Spice commercials is answering Twitter messages on YouTube! Funny stuff.
(Warning: great potential of getting stuck in the YouTube vortex.)

If you blink you might miss this week’s Website of the Week. But it meets a few of the important requirements for my website of the week: it’s funny, it’s teeth pain inducingly cute and it makes you go WTF! :-)

Sly's Website of the Week - July 14th, 2010

I'm baaaaack! :-)

This week's Website of the Week shows the great things that the new iPhone 4 can do (despite all the quirks happening with the phones at present, this is very cool....well, at least to me it is).

Not at all to poke fun at the oil spill in the Gulf Coast (I like how they call it a "spill" as if throwing some Bounty paper towels on it would fix it right up), but for the 2 or 3 people out there who may not have seen this we give you the lighter side of the BP oil spill/rig explosion.

Considering what has been done so far to fix things, it's frighteningly accurate.

BTW, this will be the last Website of the Week for a couple of weeks while I head off to New Jersey, New York and Cleveland, so during that time, please continue to send in your wacky, weird, cool or funny websites to me at slyatyourmaclifeshow.com (replace at with @....duh....LOL).

Ahhhhhhhh Super Mario music! :-)

Very cool paper stop-motion video using Super Mario characters and sounds.

Makes me nostalgic for my Nintendo 64. :-)

Hope you enjoy!

Some more cool magic....

....well, okay it's kinda lame magic, but it's done using a using an iPad! ;-)

Sly's Website of the Week - June 2nd, 2010

Hmmmm....smoke and mirrors???

Doesn't really matter if you speak Japanese or not, cool is still cool in any language. :-)

Enjoy!

PassiveAggressiveNotes.com

Funny notes (not necessarily always passive-aggressive) from pissed off people. Or as the sites says: “painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over.

Careful, you could “piss away” an afternoon following these notes. :-)

~ Disclaimer: Some “naughty” words may be found in some of the notes and thus, may not be suitable for all listeners. ;-)

Sly's Website of the Week - May 19th, 2010

Very cool video comparing the relative sizes of various celestial bodies, the display in visual form is amazing and pretty much will make you feel like the wee tiny little specks that we are. :-)

I agree with our winning submitter that "the background music is absolutely perfect, it starts off with the theme to the Black Hole and ends in the closing titles to Blade Runner".

Astronomy geeks will enjoy it at least, and those with a sense of humour will appreciate the ending. ;-)

We've all seen building implosions before, most of them though, from the outside looking in.

This week's website of the week takes you inside the implosion of Texas Stadium. You can move around 360 degrees to get the angle you want - very cool!

Texas Stadium goes down!

Sly's Website of the Week - April 21st, 2010

I don't know much about creating a website, but I'm pretty sure that this is WHAT NOT TO DO!

Is this the world's ugliest website? You be the judge.

All I can say is MY EYES!! :-)

WOW!

I know, I know there’s logic behind it, process of elimination blah blah blah, but I fall for these things every time and sadly I'm surprised every time "it" gets it right.

Guess your number!

Great use of ultra slow-mo in advertising!
