As a photographer, how would you describe yourself?

A more accurate description…

I actually describe myself as a "lapsed advanced amateur".
Which is to say, thirty years ago I was very involved in photography;
developing and printing in my own darkroom, taking correspondence courses,
and even teaching introductory photography in high school. But, then I got involved
in other (less expensive) things, and am only now getting back into photography via the digital route.
I'm finding lots of things to re-learn or learn anew.

"I'm finding lots of things

"I'm finding lots of things to re-learn or learn anew."

Such as?

I like the photos I take

I like the photos I take from a composition point of view, but they missing they are something. I think my metering is off. I need to keep taking and hang in there. It might also have something to do with living in the very grey UK!

Best wishes

Michael

"I think my metering is

"I think my metering is off."

How are you metering - in the camera, with an external meter or "manually"?

"very grey UK!"

LOL Yeah - you'll have to work harder to get brighter :) but have you tried using Aperture of Lightroom to "fix" the UK's greyness? :)
