The Police Rehearsals
The Police are gearing up for their first tour in a gazillion years and they’ve been rehearsing in my hometown of North Vancouver, BC for the last few weeks getting ready to kick it all off at GM Place in Vancouver on Monday, May 28th (fan club preview show is scheduled for Sunday, May 27th). They play a second “official” show on Wednesday, May 30th, and while I won’t be there (the good seats are too rich for my blood), at least you can get a sneak peek of their rehearsals.
Any YML listeners planning on seeing them on tour? If so, let us know what you think; we can live vicariously through you. ;-)

Stewart Copeland's "Review" of the 2nd Vancouver Show
If you're interested, here's a link to Copeland's blog on the 2nd Vancouver show....too funny. He even describes Sting as a "petulant pansy" at one point (in jest).
Gotta admire Copeland for being so honest about it. The only bad thing I heard about the Vancouver shows is the sound quality, or lack thereof, in the upper bowl of GM Place, which is not surprising. The first "fan club" show (before the 2 official shows) in front of just 4,000 fans was much more casual and more rehearsal like, with the guys taking the stage at about 7:40pm just to say that they're getting ready and they'd be back soon. And then during that show, they were just working on some notes and keys and Copeland would laugh when Sting screwed up something.
Sounds like they're still working the kinks out so come July for your show in St Louis, I'm assuming they'll be tighter. :-)
