Lesa says 1st half of June for iPhone ship date. Shawn says 2nd half. Who is right?

While I think Shawn is correct, and I have voted accordingly, I still hope that Lesa is correct.

I cannot wait to smash my Motorola phone into tiny obnoxious pieces as soon as my iPhone is resting securely in the palm of my hand!

I was just listening to the latest podcast from Macworld (5/23/07), and somebody who had just talked to a spokesperson (Natalie ...the last name escapes me) at Apple said that Steve Jobs had said that the iPhone was still on schedule for release in the second half of June.

Sorry Lesa...I have to go with Shawn this time...

Turning his attention to Apple’s hotly anticipated iPhone, Jobs said that Apple is on track to deliver them in late June. “I think we’ll ship a lot of them,” he added. “Will it be enough? I don’t know. I hope not.”

At the D 2007 conference Wednesday, Steve Jobs told Walt Mossberg that the iPhone would ship on the last day in June.

I think he meant it as a joke, but he might have been serious.
