Apple TV
Mine gets delivered on Friday--I am so ready to give it a try!
Just added--
I have now had the Apple TV for several weeks and it has become a staple for TV viewing in our home. The set-up was very easy. The worst part was finding a power strip with enough outlets to handle all of our gear.
Before the Apple TV, I bought one movie from iTunes and bought 1-3 DVDs per week. Now I am buying most movies and TV from the iTunes store.
The picture is DARN GOOD. Even our adult children are thinking about getting Apple TVs. I love the photo screen saver as a way to view recent family photos!
Would I buy it again? Yes! And as we add a second HDTV to our home, we will definitely buy more Apple TVs!
Poll options
What, no "Maybe" option! That would be my vote.
This is too cool, but people don't get it.
I don't have an TV yet, but I will (as soon as I save up enough for a flat panel HDTV :-)
I don't understand why folks aren't understanding how incredibly cool this product really is. I have a new Apple Airport Extreme base station (802.11N). I have a 250gb USB drive connected to the base station. I now how over 100 movies on the USB drive. I just take a DVD, create a Quicktime movie of the DVD with Handbrake (most movies end up being about 1.2gb at the settings I'm using), and toss it on the USB drive. Now, any of the computers in my house can view any of the 100 movies using Front Row. And when I (finally) purchase an TV, I'll be able to watch any of the 100 movies (and counting) on my TV, without having to look for where I, or one of my four kids, left the DVD.
I have over 500 VHS tapes, and expect to have many more DVDs. Being able to store them on a USB drive and access them with such ease—from any computer or TV in my home—is simply amazing.
They just don't build them like they used to....
Waiting for the old boxen to die. We'll bow our heads in memory of the CRT, (pause for like, a second) Now where's that Credit Card?
My local Apple Store in
My local Apple Store in Chandler, Az had plenty in stock and people were standing in line to buy one.
I gave one a "test drive" in the store and was rather impressed. I asked the sales person what the return policy and he said 2 weeks. I also asked if there was a restocking fee and he went to the back to ask "the powers that be" and he said they'd wave it for me on the Apple TV as long as I returned it with all the packaging in new condition. I decided to be an "early adopter".

Need, "I'll buy version 2.0" option
I'll wait for the next rev or the price to go down. I do not have HDMI in my office. I would like to see an AppleTV that is also a DVD player.
