DRM and Itunes

Shawn,

I have been listening to last nights show and thought I would add my two cents worth to the itunes and amazon music store conversation. I may be wrong but when Steve Jobs issued his open letter regarding DRM free music he ask all labels to discontinue DRM for digital music. There are some music now being sold on itunes that is DRM free but very little. Universal music has refused to allow itunes to sell their music DRM free but has seen fit to climb into bed with Amazon and offer their music on that site DRM free. If you remember a few weeks back when negoations with NBC Universal broke down the big statement made by NBC Universal said it all (In addition we asked Apple to take concrete steps tp protect content from piracy since it is estimated the typical Ipod contains a significant amount of illegally downloaded material). As long as the music, TV and music industry consideres their customers thieves I am afraid it is going to be more not less DRM.

Keep up the good work,
Jim Gilliland
