Time is running out to take Advantage of Microsoft Deals
From the MacBU
Microsoft has offered two deals that will enable US and Canadian users to get a free copy of Office for Mac 2008 for the cost of shipping and handling ($6.99 US/ $10.00 CDN), plus applicable taxes. The Super Suite deal ends January 14, 2007 so time is running out on this deal that will qualify you for Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Special Media Edition that's practically free. The Technology Guarantee program extends to March 31st, 2008.
Some Office for Mac 2004 users have opted to purchase the Student and Teacher's version for 2004 just to qualify for the Suite Deal to get the Special Media Edition. Home uses can take advantage of this option. Note: In the 2008 version, it's now called Home and Student Edition. Even some Office for Mac X users have decided to get Office 2004 just for the VBA features that are no longer available in Office 2008. They have opted to run both 2004 and 2004 Office version using different Users.
If you are a home user, you might find that you no longer need the full Standard version and can use the Home & Student version. It does not contain Exchange support or Automator actions. Be sure to compare prices for the upgrade version to the Home & Student version. Retail; $240 for the upgrade, Office 2008 for Mac Home and Student Edition $150.
