Steve Jobs - the most Powerful Person in Business

Here are my thoughts about Steve Jobs topping the list of the most powerful people in business.  Shawn, I would be interested in your thoughts if you have not talked about it yet.  I am backordered on listening to the show, as I have been busy lately.

No doubt Steve Jobs is the most powerful person in business.  Business after all, is not only money and position, but it is intertwined with what we feel about the products and services that are a part of our lives.  Often overlooked is the influence he has on Microsoft. 

He has the solution to the frustrations PC users have, cell phone users have, and has made listening to music fun again, without even writing a song, playing a guitar or singing a note (or moving to Nashville)!  Steve Jobs has been powerful and influential longer than most people on the list that are older than he is, yet he has such fresh and contemporary ideas and products that have become the standard that other products are compared to. 

When in business history has a 50+ year old CEO offered customers from teens to retirees products and services they all enjoy and consider the best ever made, spanning across multiple industries?  Steve Jobs is one of the few powerful people in business that is truly loved by his customers.  They promote and defend the products he sells them, treat him like a celebrity and star, and line up to spend money for whatever he offers.  This incredible customer loyalty and satisfaction are actually deserved because he offers the best quality products and services of anything in the various industries he is a part of. 

He may be the most unique business leader in history.
