Salutations...

Greetings! I am Rich and use the nom-de-plume of gankomon (yes, it's a not-so-obscure word in Japanese and no, I'm not translating it for you). I'm a relative latecomer to the Macintosh, having been on it only since 1994 (PowerBook 180c, OS 7.1 KanjiTalk, if anyone remembers that) and am currently running Leopard on a 12-inch PowerBook.

My main love is recording in GarageBand (I'm a jazz trombonist/trumpeter/tubist) and working on improving my Japanese- thus my constant use of the wonderful shareware product JE Dict and the Firefox plugin PeraPera-kun.

I have been aware of Your Mac Life for some time, but with MacWorld upcoming (and actually getting to attend this year instead of working) I thought that this was an optimal time to actually become a registered member.
