How Nikon bettered Canon with full-frame SLRs

From CNET
Canon beat Nikon to market by years with a high-end digital SLR whose image sensor is the size of a full frame of 35mm film. But while Nikon may have been late to the party with its new D3, I think it employed a much smarter approach to a lens compatibility issue.

While its is nice that Nikon

While its is nice that Nikon came up with a way to use the smaller DX lens on a full frame sensor camera, after looking at the amount of vignetting you get in the final picture and the unusable area you end up with, I seriously doubt any Pro Photographer willing to pay $5000 for the camera would not invest in good glass to go along with the new body. It may be nice in a pinch, but just go with the lenses designed for the full frame sensor. I'm sure the lenses will hold enough value to be sold to help with that.

I agree with Ron, I know

I agree with Ron, I know people who own non-full-frame DSLRs but only buy full-frame lens so they can upgrade to a full-frame DSLR in the future.
