I am David C.

I always need help with my computing. Give me a computer and I will lock it up, crash it or do something irritating that will take days to fix. I was once an Apple employee, Fremont Facilities 1988-93, where I first started using Macs. Then the big site closer sent me off into the other world of PC madness. Just three months ago I bought a MacMini followed by a MacPro. The MacMini is in my living room acting like an AppleTV, only more flexible, and the Pro replaced my PC. Now I only have two pieces of software that need to run on BootCamp XP, the rest is open source or newly purchased applications that do all I did before and more.

I am still on a learning curve with Panther and Mac applications but it is easy enough. I can't get my Epson R1800 to print on my Macs, though, so I have to save everything in pdf and then use my WinXP to print. That sucks. I also have problems with my MacPro booting cleanly. I guess if gets confused with boot dive options and just lands on a gray screen. That sucks too. The Apple Care folks haven't been much help here.

Here is where I need immediate help:
1) fixing my boot problem
2) getting my R1800 to print
