Adobe releases Acrobat, Creative Suite Updates

From Macworld

Acrobat 9, the latest version of the PDF creation software unveiled by Adobe earlier this month, began shipping Wednesday. As part of the release, Adobe also updated its Creative Suite to include the newly released Acrobat 9 Pro.

Creative Suite 3.3 adds the updated version of Acrobat Pro to the Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, and Master Collection versions of Adobe’s collection of applications aimed at creative professionals. Creative Suite 3.3 Design Premium also now includes Fireworks CS3; previously, Adobe only included the vector and bitmap graphics editor with its Creative Suite Web Edition.

Announced in early June, the Mac-compatible Acrobat 9 Pro offers native support for Flash, allowing designers to create PDFs that include Flash video and other multimedia content. Other additions to Acrobat include support for one compressed PDF file containing multiple media types and integration with the Acrobat.com document collaboration service.

Acrobat 9 Pro costs $449; registered users of previous versions can upgrade for $159.
